Nate Hobbs of the Las Vegas Raiders was arrested earlier this year on suspicion of DUI. Prosecutors dropped the DUI after his blood test came back under the legal limit. Two weeks later, Hobbs was busted for driving 110 miles per hour and hit with a reckless driving charge.
It was initially reported that Hobbs would have to pay a $685 traffic fine in addition to twenty hours of community service about the alleged DUI. With that taken care of, Hobbs proceeded to once again risk his own life and those of other drivers with his wild joyride. TMZ Sports has reported that Hobbs has now settled the case for a mere $250.
Police bodycam footage in February showed a very angry officer dealing with Nate Hobbs. The cop admonished him for his speed and failure to signal. Hobbs said it was an honest mistake.
Nate begged the officer not to arrest him. He explained that he had just been picked up for DUI. That wasn’t enough, and the officer took him in.
On Monday, a brief court hearing settled the matter. Hobbs has already paid his fine. The reckless driving case against him is now over.
Given his history of reckless driving, it might be time for Nate Hobbs to start taking road safety more seriously. Hobbs has already dodged two bullets. His next mistake could be fatal.
