Dave Chappelle recently headlined the Netflix Is a Joke comedy festival at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. A man charged the stage and tackled the creator of Chappelle’s Show near the end of his set. It seems his attacker has been badly beaten up by Busta Rhymes, Jamie Foxx and other crew members.
Busta Rhymes and Jamie Foxx reportedly came to Dave Chappelle’s aid after the comedian was assaulted during a recent show and assisted in beating up the attacker. According to TMZ, the man who attacked Dave was armed with a replica firearm when he stormed the stage.
A group of people, including Busta Rhymes, Jamie Foxx, and Dave Chappelle’s security, allegedly grabbed the man and roughed him up. Dave escaped unharmed, but the attacker was seen leaving the venue on a stretcher on video. He was taken to a nearby hospital and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, according to reports.
Following the scuffle, Dave concluded the show by making a joke about it. The two comedians recounted the beating after inviting Jamie onstage. During the aftermath, Chris Rock, who was also in attendance, was brought onstage. He took advantage of the situation to make a joke about being slapped by Will Smith at the 2022 Oscars.
Dave Chappelle may have lost some popularity over recent controversies, but he had plenty of people willing to get physical to protect him from this wild attack. Check out the video below of Dave Chappelle being assaulted at the Hollywood Bowl.
