Draymond Green found himself in a tough spot during game one of the NBA Playoff series between the Memphis Grizzlies and his Golden State Warriors. Green was hit with an ejection after an on-court dust up. As the Memphis faithful mocked him while leaving the floor, Green shot them a middle finger.
Draymond was being harassed by the hometown fans all night. He finally had enough when he was injured, ejected, and being heckled at the same time. Green’s obscene gesture had many wondering if he lost his focus.
Green knows he will likely be fined for his actions. The Golden State star doesn’t care. After the game, he addressed the media and showed no remorse.
“It felt really good to flip [the Grizzlies’ fans] off…I’m assuming the cheers was because they know I’ll get fined, great…I make $25M per year I should be just fine.”
Game two saw Draymond Green’s return to action. He didn’t put up much of an offensive fight. The Golden State center grabbed ten rebounds and had seven assists, but only tallied six points. It was the Ja Morant show for the rest of the game.
Saturday’s third game will be at home for Golden State. Draymond Green won’t have to deal with the ruthless fans in Memphis. Perhaps he can keep his mind on the game and contribute to a much-needed victory on his team’s own floor.
