Jack Harlow has seen a meteoric rise in the world of hip-hop over the past couple of years. Jack had his first number one hit less than a year after he became known for collaborating with Lil Nas X. He also didn’t watch White Men Can’t Jump until he was cast in the reboot.
The Met Gala took place earlier this week and celebrities from all across the world made their way to the event. This included Jack Harlow, who is set to star in the reboot of White Men Can’t Jump.
While dressed in a dapper Givenchy suit, the 24-year-old revealed that, while he has the leading role in the upcoming reboot, he had not watched the original film until the role was offered to him. Obviously, he changed this situation and took in the classic movie post-haste.
While speaking to Variety during the Met Gala, Jack Harlow made it clear while he was not aware of the significance of the original film, he was not going to let that make him miss out on the opportunity of acting in the reboot.
“I was obviously familiar with [the movie] – it’s an iconic title and I’ve seen the movie poster – but I didn’t watch it until I got offered the role.”
I see why it’s a classic.”
We will have to wait and see how the reboot film will turn out to be, whenever it releases. Odds are, it will be worthy of being compared to the original. Keep checking back with Thirsty for more info!
