‘Toddlers & Tiaras’ Star Kailia Posey Cause Of Death Revealed

Kailia Posey gained a lot of fame as a cast member on the TLC series, “Toddlers & Tiaras.” Earlier this week, her mother Marcy Posey Gatterman announced the sad news of Kailia’s passing on Facebook. At the time, she did not reveal any details about the circumstances of her death. Now we have more tragic details about what happened.

Posey’s family finally revealed the tragic cause of death to be suicide in a statement given to TMZ. This statement was made one day after news broke the 16-year-old died. Posey’s family told the outlet, “Although she was an accomplished teenager with a bright future ahead of her, unfortunately in one impetuous moment, she made the rash decision to end her earthly life.”

Posey was a young star on the TLC reality series, which ran from 2009 to 2013 and featured families who prepared their children to compete in beauty pageants. She became a popular GIF when her “evil grin” went viral. In January, Posey announced on Instagram that she was gearing up to compete as Miss Washington Teen USA in February.

Despite the controversial nature of children’s beauty pagaents, she had a true love for competing well into her teenage years. Posey’s mom, Marcy Posey Gatterman, initially shared the heartbreaking news of the teen’s death on Monday night. She wrote in,

“I don’t have words or any thoughts. A beautiful baby girl is gone, Please give us privacy as we mourn the loss of Kailia. My baby forever.”
