It seems Smith’s doppelganger on the hand is making fortune by talking about the slap.

Shad Ellis, Will Smith’s lookalike, has been cashing out on him for the past 25 years. Shad’s business boomed in the aftermath of Will slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars, as demand for his appearances has skyrocketed. Shad charges at least $1,050 per appearance, according to Yahoo Entertainment, but he is also having to deal with a lot of comments from strangers and friends alike, both in-person and online.

Ellis works as a lookalike part-time and has done so for over 25 years. Although he won’t say how much he earns from his second job, but it enabled him to buy his first home at the age of 21 and drive nice cars. Despite profiting financially from the controversy, he doesn’t condone violence but sees both sides of the argument and believes Jada is toxic.
