Ben Simmons has received a lot of criticism this year. Of course, this is due to the fact that he has yet to play a single game this season, prompting fans to label him “soft.” It seems he is back from a successful back surgery.
Ben Simmons is one step closer to recovery after having back surgery recently to relieve pain from a herniated disc. He said the microdiscectomy procedure was a huge success. He thanked the fans for their well wishes in his Instagram Story.
Surgery went well. Thank you for the well wishes.
Of course, Ben’s back injury first surfaced in February 2020, while he was still with the Philadelphia 76ers, forcing him to miss several games. The problems persisted into the following season where he experienced back tightness and pain in 2021. The 25-year-old Simmons, who was traded to the Brooklyn Nets in the middle of the season, ended up missing the entire 2021-22 season.
He will now focus on recovery over the next 3-4 months. It’s worth noting that several commentators chastised Simmons for not playing in the postseason, claiming he had given up on his team. Given the fact that he required surgery, those analysts may have to eat their words now.
While there is hope that he will be ready for training camp, it is probably best to remain cautiously optimistic about the situation. Fans should be glad to see Ben is in good spirits and Nets fans must be ecstatic to finally see their star in Black and White next season. Check out the Instagram story below.
