Elon Musk is making it clear that he purchased Twitter for $44 billion of his own volition. The Tesla CEO has now called out a false claim that he was encouraged to do so by the former US President, Donald Trump.

Devin Nunes who is the CEO of Donald Trump’s social-media rival. Truth claimed that his boss “encouraged” Space X CEO, Elon Musk to take over Twitter. Musk denied this claim as “false” in a tweet on Friday.

Musk’s tweet came in response to New York Post article about Nunes’ claims. The billionaire not only called the claim false but said he has no communication with Donald Trump whatsoever.

“I’ve had no communication, directly or indirectly, with Trump, who has publicly stated that he will be exclusively on Truth Social.”

Elon Musk purchased the social media giant with only one intention in mind and that is to make the platform a bastion of free speech. Now that he has it under his control, it remains to be seen how Twitter transforms in the coming years.
