Scott Steiner is a true veteran in the world of professional wrestling. He and his brother Rick became one of the most dominant tag teams during the early 90s. They held the WWE World Tag Team Championship on two separate occasions.
Scott Steiner then became Big Poppa Pump in WCW and became one of the biggest stars in the industry. He had a short run in WWE, feuding with the likes of Triple H.
Eventually, he made his way to TNA/Impact Wrestling and had a very solid run there. This included his iconic ‘Steiner Math’ promo in the build-up to the 2008 Sacrifice pay-per-view.
While speaking on the AEW Unrestricted podcast, Samoa Joe gave behind the scenes details regarding the promo, as he tried to maintain composure throughout.
“So I tell people I was standing behind the camera as like Scott [Steiner] was kind of like free forming it in his head, and I remember kind of-you know he did an earlier take and you know he was kind of getting the idea. And then like, I think it was like the second one he just went-I was visibly behind the camera just trying to hold myself together. When it all got done I just looked at Scott and was like ‘I think that was the one.”
Scott Steiner has buried the hatchet with WWE as he was inducted into the Hall Of Fame this year. Steiner’s contributions will always be remembered and that is what matters to him now.
