Mary J. Blige experienced a bit of a resurgence since her Super Bowl LVI appearance. After the release of her fourteenth studio album, “Good Morning Gorgeous,” it looks like she is unstoppable this year.
Mary, who is called the Queen of Hip Hop Soul gets to celebrate “Strength of a Woman day” dedicated to her. The slogan has been borrowed from one of Mary’s previous albums.
TMZ reports that the slogan also marks the official start of the Live Nation and Pepsi-sponsored “Strength of a Woman Festival & Summit” this weekend.
On May 6. Thursday, Atlanta city councilwoman Keisha Sean Waites presented an award to Mary J. Blige. 2 Chainz, Kandi Burruss, music executive, Kenny Burns, and celebrity stylist Misa Hylton were also among others who attended the event.
There are many performances scheduled this weekend. Mary will perform along with Chaka Khan, City Girls, Ella Mai, and other standout women. The event will also have musical and technological workshops to educate and motivate the crowd.
Mary J. Blige is also going to receive the Icon Award at Billboard Music Awards next month which her friend and mentor Diddy is hosting.
