Dave Chappelle needs no introductions as far as being a stand-up comedian is concerned as his range of comedies and impeccable timing made him a huge success. He became a subject of controversy after his special on Netflix, called ‘The Closer,’ dropped on the streaming platform last year.
The National Black Justice Coalition called on Netflix to remove Dave Chappelle’s special from the streaming platform for Chappelle’s harmful and transphobic remarks against the trans community.
Since then Dave Chappelle has become someone the trans community does not like at all. As such, a man rushed the stage during a recent performance featuring Dave Chappelle. 23-year-old Isaiah Lee was charged with felony assault and was being held on $30,000 bail.
While speaking to TMZ, Comedian Tehran Von Ghasri claimed that he saw Dave Chappelle’s attacker sneak into his area at the Hollywood Bowl just before he tackled Dave.
Tehran claimed that he had told security something was going to happen and altered them when the attacker made his way to the VIP section. However, he claimed that the security ignored him.
Tehran added that everything happened too fast to personally react to the attacker, but he believed his words of warning might have prevented the whole ordeal. It was also said that the attacker won’t be facing a felony charge. We’ll keep you updated on this ongoing story.
