Dana White is known to be a very controversial figure when it comes to the proper payment of UFC stars. He was called out for this fact many times by the likes of Jake Paul. However, it cannot be dismissed that Dana White has made UFC what it is today as it remains the most popular promotion for MMA in the world right now.
Dana White also has an interesting relationship with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. White and McMahon were two of many leaders from sports and entertainment who had meetings with Donald Trump when the COVID-19 pandemic began.
While speaking on The Pivot Podcast, Dana White revealed that he did not speak up at all during the meeting. This is because White believed the other sports officials wouldn’t act on what they had mentioned.
White added that he believed only Vince McMahon would act on what he said. White revealed that McMahon blasted him for not speaking up during the meeting.
“At the time, President Trump put me and a bunch of the other guys in sports on a panel and we would get on a call every week with the President and walk through how we would do this and I — God, I don’t even know if I should talk about this publicly but… I’ve never talked about this before.
Vince McMahon starts texting me and basically berating me after the call like, ‘Why didn’t you talk? Why didn’t you back up what I was saying? And we gotta go through this’ and all this other sh*t and I was like, ‘Because I think everybody’s full of sh*t, that’s why, except for you. You’re definitely not full of sh*t Vince,’ you know? Vince is a f*cking killer.”
Dana White will also be present during AEW’s Las Vegas show this month. We’ll have to see what Dana White has planned for the UFC in the coming months.
