Brock Lesnar lost the WWE Championship to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 38 in a title unification match. It was a long time coming as their feud was developing for quite a while before that. Some fans expected to see him at WrestleMania Backlash, but he was never booked for the show despite being advertised by the venue.
The Beast Incarnate was initially advertised for WrestleMania Backlash this month. However, he was then subsequently pulled from the event. This shocked fans as they expected Reigns and Lesnar to duke it out again.
According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE falsely advertised Lesnar for the event. He revealed that the main reason was so that people wouldn’t know that Lesnar was going to lose at WrestleMania.
“It is notable WWE had first advertised Brock Lesnar, even though he was never supposed to be on the show. The explanation was that if they didn’t advertise Lesnar, it would give people the clue that Lesnar wasn’t winning at Mania. Anyway, it’s direct false advertising.”
The Beast Incarnate is advertised for the WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event this year. We will have to wait and see when Lesnar will be making his return to WWE television.
