Matt Riddle signed with WWE and he has been one of the mainstays of WWE television, be it in NXT or the main roster. His in-ring skills are one of the best in the company and he already has a good fan following. Prior to making his main roster debut, Matt Riddle mentioned many times that he wanted to face Brock Lesnar and retire him for good.
Matt Riddle and Brock Lesnar had a confrontation backstage during the 2020 Royal Rumble, where Brock Lesnar said he never wants to work with Riddle. Last year, Matt Riddle stated that he really wants to face off against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania someday.
Riddle did technically get his wish as he got to face Brock Lesnar at the WWE Title Elimination Chamber match back in February. While speaking with Catch Club, Matt Riddle was asked about his dream opponent at WrestleMania 38. Riddle stated that he still wants to face Lesnar when the time is right.
“I mean the obvious answer is Brock Lesnar. You know I’ve been wanting that guy for a minute, but he didn’t want me, but now we were kinda like this. I might be able to get in there now. I don’t know if I will like the outcome of the match.
I had a little taste. You know things didn’t go according to plan. I think everyone would agree with that. Brock broke out of his pod and did what Brock does. Nobody was ready for him and he came in and he Brocked us. I would like that match wh. en the time is right and the build is right.”
Booker T also believes Matt Riddle will be a world champion in WWE. Lesnar vs Riddle is a match that fans have waited on for years. We will have to wait and see whether Riddle will ever get to face Brock Lesnar in the future or not.
