Netflix held its first-ever comedy festival at Hollywood Bowl, and this is where Dave Chappelle was attacked during a recent comedy set. The infamous moment is still talked about today, but it won’t air on Netflix.

The streaming giant recently announced a list of comedy content being released from its Netflix Is a Joke Fest and it doesn’t include Chapelle’s set where he was attacked.

However, the unavailability of Chapelle’s set isn’t due to the attack. You might be surprised to learn that Netflix had informed prior to the festival that the comedian’s four sold-out shows weren’t being taped for a special.

The interesting thing is Chappelle had his own camera crew present at Hollywood Bowl to film his set. This means fans will be able to see the footage on some other platform or in some other manner, just not on Netflix.

It’s unfortunate that the set won’t be available on the streaming giant, fans would have always gone back to it. Since Chapelle recorded his own footage at the festival, he must be planning to use it in some shape or form if allowed by Netflix. We will have to wait and see if at least clips from it appear somewhere.
