Tom Brady will join the Fox Sports broadcast team as an analyst after his playing days are finally over. Many thought that day had already come, but Tom backtracked on his retirement after less than two months. Today, Fox Sports announced that they have signed Tom Brady to work their NFL broadcasts after he finally calls it quits for good.
Brady was excited about the deal but pointed out that he has plenty left to do on the field. Tom is looking to pick up yet another Super Bowl win as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In addition to the upcoming season, Tom Brady has been working on a Hollywood film.
If the NFL and movie money weren’t enough, the New York Post has now reported how much Brady will be making from his deal with Fox. Tom will earn $375 million over the ten-year life of his contract. That makes him the highest-paid NFL analyst by a long shot.
Troy Aikman and Tony Romo each make about $18 million per season. Tom Brady’s new deal will more than double that amount. It is an insane number for a league that would get hundreds of millions of viewers even without announcers.
Fox recently lost Aikman and Joe Buck to ESPN, where they will cover Monday Night Football. The network was hoping to make a big splash by hiring Tom Brady. That splash will cost them $37.5 million per year.
Tom Brady will be allowed to continue to play football until he decides to retire. His deal with Fox Sports will pick up after his career. For now, Tom Terrific is focused on winning another Lombardi Trophy, but things are looking pretty rosy once he finally hangs up his cleats.
