Amber Heard is embroiled in a battle with her ex-husband Johnny Depp in court. Candace Owens has spoken out on the public’s reaction to Amber Heard’s defamation case, taking jabs at artist Kesha in the process.
Despite the fact that Depp was not named in the piece, his lawyers have maintained that Heard was clearly referring to him. While Depp is seeking $50 million in damages, Heard has countersued for $100 million in nuisance damages. Owens took to Twitter recently to give her thoughts on the former couple’s trial and to include Kesha in the dialogue.
Love that everyone realizes what Amber Heard is but it feels appropriate to remind you all that @KeshaRose did it first. And got away with it.
Both sides have accused one other of domestic abuse in the high-profile trial, which is taking place in Virginia’s Fairfax County Circuit Courthouse. Both parties have denied the charges. Owens’ tweet drew a response from music journalist Eve Barlow, who is believed to be a friend of Heard’s. He accused the presenter of “misogyny.”
Owens is one of a number of conservative leaders who have spoken out against Heard throughout the trial, while also taking aim at the #MeToo movement, which has resulted in countless women speaking up against sexual abuse, harassment, and rape culture. Check out the tweet below.
