Ice Cube is famous for his lyrical ability. Before he was into making movies with family audiences in mind, Ice Cube broke into the rap scene with his radical rap group, N.W.A. Cube has recently signed a multi-picture deal to develop new films and television series.
According to Collider, Ice Cube has struck a multi-picture contract with Luminosity Entertainment. The deal will see him develop a variety of films and television series over the next few years. Cube will launch the partnership with a comedic film called Cube in My Head.
The film will be produced in collaboration with 5120 Entertainment and SmokeyScreen. According to the trailer, the film follows a “hapless white dude” who wonders, “What if Ice Cube was inside my head?” Cube will play himself in the film, offering advise on how to get his life back on track.
Excited to be working with Elie [Samaha] (Luminosity co-founder) and his team to make some great movies, especially this one. Who couldn’t use me in their head?
Luminosity’s Geno Taylor said in a statement, “It is a privilege to be able to establish a partnership with an individual as talented and well versed as Cube. Looking forward to building a successful partnership!” Ice Cube’s Cube Vision is also on board as a production firm for Cube in My Head, which is expected to begin production later in 2022.
Cube Vision films have already grossed over $1 billion at the movie office. Ice Cube’s most recent film was 2020’s The High Note, with 2017’s Fist Fight preceding it. Other gigs include returning with Kevin Hart for Ride Along 3 and starring with Eva Longoria and Michael O’Neill in War of the Worlds. The N.W.A legend made headlines in October 2021 after denying the producers’ request to get vaccinated, resulting in him walking away from a $9 million payout.
