Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s hit comedy series, “Young Rock,” tells the story of his evolution from the son of a pro wrestler to one of the sport’s biggest stars. The series has been a surprise hit for NBC. “Young Rock” has now been renewed for at least another season on NBC to make it into season three.
On Thursday, NBC announced that “Young Rock” has been renewed for a third season. The sitcom, which is based on Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s life story, depicts how Johnson’s upbringing impacted him. “Young Rock” is presently in its second season.
It delves back into Dwayne Johnson’s life, continuing the storylines from Season 1 while also introducing new chapters we haven’t yet seen. As Dwayne and his loving, resilient family face new challenges and meet new wild characters of professional wrestling, Dwayne contemplates embracing the grind of professional wrestling himself. The show will explore the crazy rollercoaster that has shaped Dwayne into the man he is today and the larger-than-life people he’s met along the way.
Johnson, Stacey Leilua, Ana Tuisila, Adrian Groulx, Bradley Constant, Uli Latukefu, Fasitua Amosa, John Tui, and Matthew Willig feature in “Young Rock.” A modern-day version of Johnson is running for President of the United States in 2032, according to the show.
Universal Television, Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions, and Fierce Baby Productions are the show’s producers. Young Rock airs at 8 PM eastern on NBC. There are plenty of Easter eggs for wrestling fans hidden throughout the show. Check out the video below.
