NBA YoungBoy is currently one of the most recognizable and controversial rappers in the Hip-Hop world. NBA YoungBoy is no stranger to controversy as he’s known to speak his mind. The 22-year-old rapper is the youngest artist to get such an honour.
Since the 2010s, NBA Youngboy has been rapping. At the tender age of 22, the Baton Rouge native has already broken numerous records. He has more RIAA certifications than rappers J. Cole and Future, has broken Biggie Small’s Billboard 200 chart record, and has over 38 billion YouTube video views, to mention a few.
The father of seven has now passed another significant milestone. DJ Akademiks took to Instagram recently to show off what the “Make No Sense” musician had accomplished. He posted a photo of YB, whose real name is Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, standing in front of a large plaque to his four million Instagram followers.
NBA YoungBoy shows off his plaque for having 100 Gold and Platinum singles. YB the youngest to ever do this.
“100 RIAA Gold/Platinum Certifications,” the plaque reads. The rapper’s name is spelled out in large, red letters in the middle of the frame. Many gold and silver CDs are stacked in a circle just behind it, almost like artwork.
Images of cover art from some of his top-charting albums adorn the reward’s border. While this is a significant victory for YoungBoy, he is compelled to split it with his company, Atlantic Records, with whom he has been at odds recently. The rapper accused his label of “blackballing” him in February. Check out the post below.
