Kanye West’s ‘Donda’ Wins Billboard Music Awards For Best Christian & Gospel Album

Kanye West worked incredibly hard to make himself the billionaire rap and fashion mogul that he is today. There is certainly a method to his madness and not everyone likes that aspect about Kanye West. The rap icon has a number of achievements to his name, and now those who felt like they were going to church when Donda was on know why.

Kanye West bagged two awards at the Billboard Music Awards so far. These were early awards that won’t air live on television. Ye has won best Gospel record and best Christian album of the year. He got both the awards for his tenth studio album, Donda, which was released in 2021. 

Kanye West didn’t win the Top Rap Album award. He got beat out by Drake who won with Certified Lover Boy. Interestingly enough, this year also saw Drake and Ye rekindle their friendship.

Certified Lover Boy is the sixth studio album by the Canadian rapper and singer which was released on September 3, 2021. There was obviously a battle between Donda and CBL, and it looks like everyone walked away with a trophy this time.

Ye’s album, Donda, has been certified platinum by the RIAA. The album has earned over one million equivalent album sales since its release. It’s certainly an incredible feat to achieve. Check out the tweet below.
