Stephanie McMahon has a lot of responsibilities as the daughter of Vince McMahon in WWE. She is the Chief Branding Officer of the company, but Steph has also been part of several memorable WWE storylines. She believes WWE can never be boring and knows how to put over her father’s company at an expert level.
In the past twenty years or so, WWE’s television rights have seen a surge in growth compared to what they were in the past. The company continues to make record profits thanks to its contracts with FOX and the USA Network.
For many fans, WWE is the perfect combination of entertainment and competitive sports. While speaking with Dade Hayes of Deadline, Stephanie McMahon explained how WWE has a leg up on traditional sports.
“It really is both. It’s like athletic theater. It’s the story, that’s why you care. (…) You’re swept up in the storylines. We can script the buzzer-beater moments, we can script the Hail Marys. We have a leg up on sports. (…) You may object to what we do, but you’re never going to be bored.”
While WWE’s practices when it comes to releasing talent are frowned upon, there is no doubt that the company continues to make a ton of money every quarter. Vince McMahon’s company will continue to do what is best for business. That is unlikely to ever change, especially when they are still vying for bigger television deals.
