Doja Cat is one of the hottest pop acts in the industry right now and it is not hard to see why. She worked hard to make a name for herself and has garnered a huge fan following. Doja Cat also finally explained the hilarious reason behind her swerving Jack Harlow a couple of years ago.
On the other hand, Jack Harlow has seen a huge rise in the world of hip-hop over the past couple of years. Jack had his first number one hit less than a year after he gained popularity thanks to his collaboration with Lil Nas X. He also didn’t watch White Men Can’t Jump until he was cast in the reboot.
Back in 2020, Doja Cat swerved Jack Harlow when he tried to add her to an Instagram Live session. While speaking at the Billboard Music Awards, Doja Cat revealed that her wig was falling off, which is why she swerved Harlow.
My wig was peeling off and I noticed that and I was like, ‘Oh, gotta go, bye,’” she explained. “Not that I care about that thing usually.”
For his part, Jack Harlow was asked about his friendship with Doja Cat. Harlow explained that the incident happened during the early stages of the relationship. He added that they are good friends now.
“I’ve become cool with Doja. That was early in our friendship, now we know each other pretty well. So I ain’t gonna do nothing too silly. I think I’m playing it cool today.”
It was a great night for Doja Cat as she won four awards, including Top Viral Song, Top R&B Female Artist, Top R&B Artist, and Top R&B Album. Harlow also won as a featured artist on Lil Nas X’s “Industry Baby” for Top Rap Song. We’ll have to see whether Doja Cat and Harlow will end up collaborating one day or not.
