UFC’s Carla Esparza Gets Married While Wearing Her Strawweight Championship

Marriage can be one of the best things to happen to anyone, as it is certainly a special day for all parties involved. The world of combat sports is a brutal and unforgiving affair and Carla Esparza knows that well. She also had a very memorable wedding and for good reason.

Carla Esparza defeated Rose Namajunas at UFC 274 and regained her UFC strawweight championship. This brought her record to 20-6-0 and it couldn’t have happened at a better time.

Esparza’s UFC 274 win marked the second time she defeated Namajunas in a championship match. The fight might not have been a huge hit with fans, but the results matter more in the end.

A week after that, she followed through with her plans to wear the belt at her wedding. She wore the title belt as she married Matt Lomeli at a ceremony on Saturday.

Esparza wore a gorgeous white dress for the ceremony as well as her title belt. It was certainly a wonderful day for Esparza, as she married her husband, Matt, in front of her manager Brian Butler-Au, who officiated the ceremony. We’ll have to see what is next in store for the UFC fighter.
