The Rock and his investor partners bought the XFL and people should have expected great things. Practically everything Dwayne Johnson touches is amazing and the XFL surprised everyone with a landmark deal today.

Vince McMahon was the orginal mind behind the XFL, but the league only lasted one season over twenty years ago. The league’s big 2020 rebirth was then squashed by a pandemic that made live sports impossible. The XFL is getting one more breath of life thanks to The Great One.

The XFL signed a multi-year deal with Disney. This huge deal was announced during the Disney Upfronts today. This will see games on Disney+, ABC, FX, and ESPN. Obviously, this is amazing exposure for a league that doesn’t even have a full team roster announced yet.

We’re making it official! We’ve formed a multi-year agreement w/ @WaltDisneyCo & @ESPN, who will have exclusive broadcast rights for all 2023–2027 game day content, tentpole events & more.

Live sports has incredible value attached and the XFL proved that with this blockbuster announcement. Now fans can gear up for the XFL by subscribing to Disney+, because they have 43 games to look forward to once the revamped league opens their doors next year.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
