Jack Harlow certainly has rose to fame ever since his 2020 single “What’s Poppin” peaked at number 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Harlow has seen great success thanks to his influences from Drake. The two got close as of late, even spending some time together at the Kentucky Derby. However, there is friendly unfinished business between the two rappers.
In a recent interview with The 85 South Comedy Club, Harlow revealed that Drake cost him some money after copying his bet. It seems Harlow is such an fan of the native Toronto rapper that he’s willing to trust him in when it comes to betting money.
I just told Drake I would bet what he bet, so I copied him,
Harlow also discussed what it meant to have an mentor like Drake. While he has many fans and a lot of money in the bank, it seems he cherishes his time with his mentor a little bit more.
That’s what’s a real gift to this sh*t [hip-hop]. Drake is one of the people who literally taught me how to rap; him, Wayne, and Kanye. Now, to be cool with him is the biggest gift. It’s better than $10 million. There’s no price tag on meeting somebody who taught you how to do it, and them saying, ‘Yo, you’re dope.’
Harlow also cites others influences such as Eminem, Kayne West, Lil Wayne, and Paul Wall. His second album titled Come Home the Kids Miss You was released on May 6. Harlow is expected to make his acting debut in the reboot of the 1992 film White Men Can’t Jump.
