Rod Wave was arrested for domestic abuse, and his entire reputation was on the line. However, Rod Wave was just found not guilty and all allegations against him are now dropped, a much welcomed addition to this story.
AllHipHop reports that Rod Wave has been cleared on charges of domestic violence. The State Attorney’s Office dismissed a battery prosecution against Rod Wave, according to Attorney Bradford Cohen. A screenshot of a court document that stated “this case is not suitable for prosecution” was included in the lawyer’s Instagram post.
“DISMISSED. Myself and my main man David Bigney @bigneylawfirm represented Rodarius Green aka Rod Wave on his arrest last week, in Osceola County for an alleged domestic violence case. We are thrilled that this misunderstanding is behind him and he can move forward with a successful career.”
“Sometimes misunderstandings can be misconstrued and it isn’t until all the evidence and witnesses are reviewed that the right decision is made by the States Attorney. We thank the Osceola State Atty for his professionalism.”
Rod Wave was charged with battery by strangulation earlier this month. His ex-girlfriend, the mother of his two children, was accused of choking him. The alleged event occurred on April 24th. A week later, the Alamo Records artist was detained at a traffic stop in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Rod Wave was charged with battery and pled not guilty. On May 3rd, he was released on $5,000 bail. Rod Wave’s new album, ‘Beautiful Mind,’ was set to be released soon, but that date was pushed back due to these charges. Stay tuned to Thirsty for more information.
