Amber Heard Still Being Investigated In Australia For Perjury Over Dog Incident

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s trial captured the attention of the whole world and it is not hard to see why. The two are locked in a legal battle. Besides that, Amber Heard is being investigated for perjury in Australia for illegally bringing her and Johnny Depp’s dogs to the nation amid her legal battle.

Newsweek reported that the 36-year-old actress is being investigated in Australia for allegedly lying under oath, according to a representative for the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (DAWE). According to an Australian official who could not be reached for comment, the government is still investigating.

The department is exploring allegations of perjury by Ms. Heard during court proceedings for the 2015 illegal importation of (her) two dogs into Australia.

Meanwhile, legal experts informed the Daily Mail that Heard might face a perjury investigation in the UK if she revealed to the Fairfax, Va., court that she did not contribute the entirety of her $7 million divorce settlement to charity, despite previously telling the UK high court that she had. There has been no confirmation of such an investigation.

The case in Australia is linked to a notorious 2015 event in which Heard brought their two dogs with her when she visited Depp in Australia when he was filming the fifth episode of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise. When asked if she needed to declare any animals on her immigration paperwork, Heard allegedly responded “no.” The pair was advised in May 2015 that they could either get the dogs out of the country or have them put down by Australian officials since they had not been quarantined for 10 days before coming.
