Elon Musk has been all over the headlines for one reason or another. Musk has been working nonstop to portray his latest sexual misconduct charges as a political campaign. A 2010 article has resurfaced amid abuse claims against the billionaire business entrepreneur.
Elon Musk’s first wife, Justine, described herself as a “starter wife” in the resurfaced essay. Justine explained how she fell head over heels in love with Musk in a 2010 op-ed for Marie Claire. She described him as “poetic, rebellious, and tortured,” which was completely different from her usual type.
Musk, who was brilliant, “clean-cut,” and a “upper-class boy,” drew her in quickly. They met when she was a first-year student at Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada, as an aspiring writer. Musk was interested in Justine’s goals, which was refreshing for Justine, who was used to men noticing her “length hair or narrow waist.”
Musk and Justine subsequently split up, but he surprised her with a phone call, and their relationship flourished from there. Justine had no idea she was planned a wedding to a man who was on his way to becoming a billionaire. Radar Online recently reported what she wrote.
As we danced at our wedding reception, Elon told me, ‘I am the alpha in this relationship.’ I shrugged it off, just as I would later shrug off signing the postnuptial agreement, but as time went on, I learned that he was serious.
Justine claimed she didn’t recognize herself after a while. “I had turned into a trophy wife — and I sucked at it,” she wrote about their counselling sessions before he filed for divorce, referring to her brilliant blonde hair. After eight years of marriage, Musk and Justine divorced in 2008.
Later in life, he married British actress Talulah Riley twice, dated actress Amber Heard, and had two daughters with musician Grimes. Despite their breakup, Justine had no regrets, admitting that she worked over her anger, “both at Elon for rendering me so disposable, and at myself for buying into a fairy tale when I should have known better.”
She continued, “But I will always respect the brilliant and visionary person that he is … Elon and I share custody of [our five] children, who are thriving. I feel grounded now, and deeply grateful for my life.”
Musk’s name continues to make headlines as a result of his large Twitter acquisition and his involvement in the $100 million defamation action involving Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. Keep checking back with Thirsty for constant updates on this one.
