J. Cole is one of the most sought after rappers in the hip-hop world. Last year his stock rose after he released his long-awaited album The Off-Season. J. Cole clearly has a lot of things going for him, including his basketball career.
The rapper was playing basketball in the African Basketball League as part of the Rwanda Patriots and his performance was largely panned by fans and players alike. Many called him out on his embarrassing basketball skills as well.
Cole did not play basketball for a long time after that, which led many fans to believe he might be done with the sport for good. Now it seems that is not the case whatsoever.
Shams Charania of The Athletic took to Twitter and reported that J. Cole has signed a contract with the Canadian Elite Basketball League.
Sources: J. Cole is signing contract with the Scarborough Shooting Stars (@sss_cebl) in the Canadian Elite Basketball League, the rap star’s second consecutive year playing professionally. CEBL training camp began this week, with season opener on May 26.
J. Cole stopped playing basketball after May of last year due to a “family obligation,” but he reportedly did fulfil his contract. Now the rapper will be playing as part of the Scarborough Shooting Stars for his next basketball stint. We’ll have to see whether he will perform better this time around or not.
