Johnny Depp is receiving some unexpected support during his defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard. Depp has claimed his ex-wife ruined his career by accusing him of various abuses during their troubled marriage. Now, a domestic abuse organization has come out in support of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star.
Mission NGO is an Italian group headed by former Miss Italy Valeria Atobelli. In a recent social media post, Atobelli expressed compassion for Johnny Depp. She said that her organization feels for Depp during this time.
“In deep respect of the victims of domestic abuses that we have to affirm for intellectual honesty are, generally, WOMEN, we feel to express, as women, as mothers, as free thinkers, our compassion for Johnny Depp in this bad page of his personal history.”
Johnny Depp has also been winning his case in the court of public opinion. Many have noted that they don’t believe Amber Heard’s side of the story. The only verifiable instance of abuse in the relationship was committed by Amber.
The trial has been nothing short of a media circus. There have been wild accusations volleyed back and forth throughout. Huge money is on the line, as Johnny Depp is seeking $50 million in damages.
The trial is finally set to come to an end. Testimony is expected to finish up sometime next week. From there, it will be up to the jury to decide which of these celebrities they believe.
