Wendy Williams is not pleased with the outcome of her ongoing legal battle with Wells Fargo. The famed talk show host sued Wells Fargo over a restraining order preventing her from accessing her money. The courts decided Wendy was mentally incapacitated, and assigned a financial guardian to oversee her finances.
For Wendy to access her money, she would have to go through her guardian. It is similar to the conservatorship situation recently escaped by Britney Spears. This time, it only relates to finances and money.
La’Shawn Thomas, an attorney for Wendy Williams, spoke to Page Six about the decision. They emphasized that Wendy is not in agreement with the appointment of a guardian. Williams wants full control of her finances.
“Please be advised that Wendy is not in agreement with the appointment of a financial guardian by the court. Wendy has been very clear that she does not want a financial guardian to tell her what she can and cannot do with her money.”
Williams’ lawyer went on to suggest that Wells Fargo may have leaked damning reports in an attempt to gain public support for guardianship. Team Wendy thinks the move was done to lessen public sentiment against the bank. That has yet to be proven via any evidence.
Wendy Williams is going to keep up the fight to gain back control of her money. Those at the bank don’t believe it is a responsible idea. The legal fight will continue as Wendy seeks to get her life and her finances in order.
