Amber Heard’s Witness Claims Johnny Depp’s Finger Injury Was Not Caused By Bottle

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s trial captivated the entire world, and it is easy to understand why. Amber is bringing multiple witnesses to bolster her case. Amber has returned with another witness who claims that the actor’s finger injury was not caused by a thrown vodka bottle.

According to Radar Online, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Richard Moore was called to the stand by the Aquaman actress. He challenged Johnny Depp’s assertion that his finger was severed when Heard threw a vodka bottle at him. He said the story does not match what his medical records reveal.

Heard brought him to try to persuade a jury that she did not hurt Depp’s finger during their 2015 fight in Australia. During an argument, Depp claimed his ex-wife tossed a vodka bottle at him, causing the top of his finger to fall off. She denied throwing a bottle at the actor and said he broke his finger while shattering a phone inside their rental home.

Moore concluded that Depp’s injury was not the result of a hurled bottle. He informed the court that the medical records he was given contradicted the actor’s story. He claimed that if a bottle had struck the nail, it would have caused damage to the nail bed, which Depp did not incur. The doctor also predicted tissue loss at the tip of the finger.

A graphic photo of Depp’s finger injury was shown to the jury, with the bulk of the top chopped off. The gruesome photograph shows the fingernail stick intact, but a piece of the finger has been cut from behind the nail. Moore said the fingernail still being intact did mesh with Depp’s story. Furthermore, despite Depp’s claim that the bottle exploded near his finger, no fragments of glass were detected. 

The doctors who treated him at the time made no mention of glass cutting other portions of his body. While on the stand, Depp looked down at the doctor as he testified. After hearing one answer from Moore, he giggled with his lawyers. Moore admitted during cross-examination that he had not personally examined Depp. Camilla Vasquez, Depp’s attorney, also asserted to the doctor that he can’t be certain that the damage wasn’t caused by a vodka bottle.
