Benzino can’t seem to avoid controversies. The record producer and Source founder was launched into controversy after he faced accusations that he had a romantic relationship with a transgender woman. Now he’s facing charges after altercation with ex-girlfriend and it seems he is ready to surrender.
Benzino is ready to turn himself to the cops after an altercation with his son’s mother and her boyfriend, A warrant was issued for his arrest after the attack on his ex-girlfriend, Althea Heart. Althea and her boyfriend claimed Benzino punched his truck.
The former owner of The Source was arrested last month. Police interrogated the two before detaining Benzino, according to video. Benzino said in an exclusive interview with AllHipHop that he is handing himself in after a warrant for his arrest was issued.
I was kind of arguing with the guy she was with at the time. Long story short, the case was like two years ago and somebody put that old video up and it got me kind of arguing with him.
In July 2020, Benzino was arrested on identical charges after reportedly damaging the vehicle of an unnamed man who was with Althea Heart. One count of second-degree criminal damage and one count of disorderly conduct were filed against him. He went on to add that he was due to attend a court meeting via zoom call after his arrest in April.
He skipped the appointment because he was sick with COVID, and a warrant for his arrest was issued. When authorities detained Benzino in April, video of him becoming enraged went viral. After he angrily attacked his accuser, cops had to issue a warning. As he began screaming and shouting loudly while pacing back and forth, cops advised him to calm down.
