Dave Chappelle made headlines recently after a man rushed the stage during a performance and tackled the comedian. That attacker was quickly caught and found to be carrying a fake gun with a knife attached. The attacker finally revealed why he tried to assault Chappelle in the first place.
23-year-old Isaiah Lee was charged with felony assault and was being held on $30,000 bail. He was also brutally beaten into a bloody pulp, something that 50 Cent made sure to troll him about.
Fans online found out that Lee had a rap song named after Dave Chappelle. The man has now become one of the most controversial names in recent memory thanks to his actions.
While speaking with the NY Post from Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles, Isaiah Lee revealed that he tried to assault Dave Chappelle because of his triggering jokes.
“I identify as bisexual… and I wanted him to know what he said was triggering. I wanted him to know that next time, he should consider first running his material by people it could affect.
I’m also a single dad and my son is five,” before explaining that he’s experienced homelessness and Chappelle’s jokes about the homeless offended him. “It’s a struggle and I wanted Dave Chappelle to know it’s not a joke.
I told him my mother and grandmother, who fought for his civil rights to be able to speak, would be upset at the things he said,” Lee added, claiming that Chappelle responded, “Now your story will die with you, son.”
In addition to this, Lee is even facing attempted murder charges for stabbing his roommate. Dave Chappelle already released a statement on the incident long ago. We’ll have to see what’s next in store for the controversial comedian.
