Hulk Hogan remains one of the biggest names in the world of professional wrestling, with his influence in the business never being understated. However, his troubled past concerning racism has ultimately led to his downfall. Seth Rollins also doesn’t think he’s a good human being either.
On the other hand, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin‘s stock continues to rise and there is a good reason for that. He single-handedly ushered in The Attitude Era and became a global phenomenon.
The Texas Rattlesnake has squared off against numerous top names throughout his career, such as The Undertaker, The Rock, Shawn Michaels and many more. However, he never got to face Hulk Hogan in a singles match. He did, however get to mix it up with The Hulkster in tag team action.
While speaking on the Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross talked about Steve Austin never facing Hulk Hogan. Ross stated that it was because of Hulk Hogan’s match against The Undertaker, which turned out to be a disaster.
“Austin didn’t have the match with Hogan because he didn’t want to have the match The Undertaker did. Hogan was battered, beat up, multiple back surgeries. It’s funny when people say ‘What’s the really important things to learn in pro wrestling training?’ Well, you’ve got to learn to take a great flatback bump because about 98% of the stuff you see ends with a flatback bump.”
Steve Austin battled it out with Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38 and gave fans something to be happy about. On the other hand, Hogan hasn’t been seen on WWE television for a long time now. We’ll have to see if Hogan comes back anytime soon.
