The Vampire Diaries Star Candice Accola Files For Divorce From Husband Joe King After 7 Years Of Marriage

Candice Accola is best known for portraying Caroline Forbes in The Vampire Diaries. Accola began dating musician Joe King of The Fray in February 2012 after meeting at a Super Bowl event. Candice recently filed for divorce from her husband Joe after seven years of marriage.

According to US Weekly, Candice Accola and Joe King’s relationship is over. The Vampire Diaries star filed for divorce from King in late April owing to “irreconcilable differences” after seven years of marriage. Accola, according to the outlet, relocated to Nashville in January, while her spouse stayed in Brentwood, Tennessee. The divorce comes after reports circulated that Accola and The Fray musician had called it quits.

The actress deleted all of her Instagram posts earlier this year and rebuilt her page the same month she filed for divorce. She was seen sans her wedding ring in several of her latest posts. Accola and King were married in 2014. Several of her co-stars, including Nina Dobrev, Kat Graham, Michael Trevino, and others, were in attendance during their New Orleans nuptials.

The couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl called Florence May King, in January 2016. The Directionally Challenged podcast host and King had their second child, Josephine June King, in 2020. Accola wrote an essay for SheKnows that year on her experience being pregnant during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Where is the baby book that tells you how to navigate giving birth in a year like 2020? There isn’t one. Forget my birth plan going out the window; this time, I threw out my whole pregnancy plan. My first pregnancy did nothing to prepare me for being pregnant in 2020. But being pregnant in 2020 has undoubtedly prepared me to become a better mother.”
