Johnny Depp is suing Amber Heard for $50 million after she allegedly implied he assaulted her in a 2018 op-ed for The Washington Post. The legal battle is ongoing and Depp fans are religiously showing up at the court to support him. Johnny Depp is planning to invite an ex-TMZ producer to testify, but the media outlet is working overtime to prevent him from doing so.
EHM Productions, the owner of TMZ, filed an emergency move to intervene after learning of Depp’s plan to phone Morgan Tremaine, according to court records acquired by Radar Online. According to their motion, they became aware of the development after Radar broke the story.
According to TMZ, Tremaine is seeking a protective injunction to prevent him from divulging sensitive material during his testimony. The company stated that it was unclear if Tremaine appeared voluntarily or in response to a trial subpoena.
If he is, TMZ likewise requests that the Court quash the subpoena.
Tremaine worked at TMZ from 2015 till August 2017. He was present when the source received the shocking video of Depp yelling at Heard in a kitchen. In the video, Depp slammed cupboards, shouted at Heard, and threw her phone. For years, the actress has denied being behind the video’s leak.
Camille Vasquez, Depp’s top lawyer, questioned Heard on the stand about how TMZ got the video and whether she called the paparazzi when she filed a restraining order against the actor. Depp is clearly convinced that Tremaine possesses information that will support his charges against Heard.
TMZ wants to keep their former employee quiet. According to the outlet, the video was obtained from a confidential source. Tremaine’s confidentiality agreement with the corporation would be violated if he spoke. The motion has yet to be decided by a judge. To get latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
