Josh Duggar has been finally sentenced to prison after a long-awaited trial. The court decided on 12.5 years behind bars as punishment. However. Josh’s cousin Amy Duggar says that 12 years in prison isn’t enough for what he has done.
Amy took to her Instagram account just after the sentencing to share her thoughts. She says that she is not convinced with the 12 years of sentence is enough for him. Amy noted that she believes “where he’s going, the prisoners are going to take care of him” but called the case “far from over.”
On May 25th, Josh Duggar was sentenced to 151 months in prison. This decision was made nearly after six months after the 19 Kids and Counting alum was convicted of possessing and receiving child porn. Along with his prison sentence, Judge Timothy L. Brooks of the Western District of Arkansas Federal Court fined Josh $10,000.
Delving deep into the matter, Amy said that she expects an explanation as to why he would be into child pornography. She suspects deep emotional trauma is where this mentality stems from. At the end of her short video, she says that she will be sleeping peacefully knowing he’s behind the bars.
“Josh’s sickness stems from somewhere, and eventually we will hear about the trauma. I don’t know when, or how, or who but eventually I think more will come out. But hopefully tonight, I can sleep for the first time ever and rest assured that another monster will be put behind bars makes my heart feel a little lighter.”
Josh Duggar will be placed on a 20-years supervised release in prison. He will be required to participate in a sex offender treatment program upon his release from prison. He will also be prohibited from unsupervised contact with minors. Duggar will not be able to use any device that has internet without approval or use marijuana.
Josh shares 7 children with his wife Anna Duggar and Amy feels for his family in this situation. Amy went on to thank her followers for “all the support” and “all the love.” After the relentless battle in the court, Amy can finally rest as justice has been served.
