Kevin Spacey used to be a beloved actor, but his fall from grace has been a slow and painful one to watch for his fans. Some people cannot stand to see Kevin Spacey in anything anymore and for good reason. Now the producers for one of his upcoming films have reacted to his most recent charges.

Kevin Spacey was the subject of #MeToo allegations from several people, and he was removed from a lot of projects. The sexual assault lawsuit was on the verge of dismissal last year as well.

As previously reported, Kevin Spacey has been charged with four counts of sexual assault and one count of “causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the aforementioned charges come as Spacey has two films being shopped at Cannes, “12:42: Gateway to the West” and “Peter Five Eight.” The producers of the latter film sent a statement, where they defended working with Kevin Spacey.

“While it’s unfortunate that increased negative press is timed with Kevin returning to work, it’s also to be expected. There are those who wish for him not to act, but they are outnumbered by fans worldwide who await an artist they have enjoyed for decades returning to the screen.”

The aforementioned two films will mark the return of Spacey as an actor. This is because he was essentially cancelled from Hollywood after facing allegations from several individuals, including “Star Trek: Discovery” star Anthony Rapp, in 2017. Regardless, Kevin Spacey’s legacy has been tarnished and nothing will change that.
