The trash talk surrounding the players of ‘The Match,’ a charity golf game taking place next week in Las Vegas, continues to rise. Capital One’s “The Match” is just four days away, and the nasty talk between the two quarterback combinations is heating up.
Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen will compete against Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers in the charity golf tournament. This will be the sixth time “The Match” has been performed, and it will be Mahomes and Allen’s first time.
Brady and Rodgers have both competed in the event before, but never together. In fact, last summer, Rodgers and professional golfer Bryson DeChambeau beat Brady. At the time, TB12 was teamed with Phil Mickelson.
Most of the back-and-forth chatter on social media had been pleasant up until this week, but on May 27, Rodgers and Brady decided to step it up a level. The words were labeled as “roasting” the AFC duo by Bleacher Report on Twitter.
Rodgers stated boldly:
“Kermit the Frog and Josh trying to s*** talk me and Tom… Come on.”
Although comparing Mahomes to Kermit the Frog isn’t exactly a new joke, it’s still a cheap attack given how humble the Chiefs quarterback has been in the lead-up to the event. Brady then followed up by ripping Allen.
“Josh really hasn’t backed up much on the football field in his career, especially playing against me.”
Mahomes and Allen have not responded on social media, opting for a more quiet approach ahead of the golf tournament. Stay tuned to Thirsty for more updates.
