Fan Controlled Football has always tried to set itself apart from the NFL in various ways. An incident took place this past weekend that certainly drove the point home as well. This is because a player was cut just for lighting a joint.
According to XFL News Hub, quarterback Jason Stewart decided to light up a joint this past weekend. He did so in order to celebrate a first quarter touchdown pass. This was certainly surprising for a number of reasons.
The fact that a football player could bring marijuana on the field, and smoke it in front of viewers on a live Twitch stream in his jersey was astounding. It is interesting to note that it was the first touchdown of his day. He would go on to lead a 44 point explosion by the offense.
The topic of marijuana forever remains a controversial one, even if many people have adopted it for various purposes. However, Fan Controlled Football decided to cut Jason Stewart for what he did.
He was the MVP in 3 of the four games he started, so it is truly a shame he was let go for just this. Regardless, fans would love to see him play football again in the future somehow.
Perhaps The Rock’s XFL would welcome Stewart back into the game after they kick things off in the 2023. In the meantime, this dude has an epic viral clip to his name and, if he plays his cards right he might get some dispensary sponsorships.
