The Dallas Cowboys sent Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns. Then Cleveland sent a 2022 fifth-round pick and swapped 2022 sixth-round picks with the Cowboys to acquire Cooper. Jerry Jones is well aware of what went down.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is showing no love to the four-time Pro Bowler, who didn’t perform according to his standards during his seventh season with the league. Cooper collected 68 receptions for 865 yards and eight touchdowns. Still, Jones has a biting personality and isn’t shy about showing off.
Jones spoke about Cooper during an interview with the Star-Telegram. He said he was trying to slight Cooper. The Cowboys traded Cooper in March because his production value didn’t match his $20 million practice tag.
“CeeDee Lamb will be an upgrade over Cooper as a true No. 1 receiver in the Cowboys offense. Lamb has the makings of more a complete No. 1 receiver in production, in the huddle and off the field.”
