Camila Cabello has received a lot of opportunities since breaking out in the entertainment world. She was the opening singer at the 2022 UEFA Finals on Saturday, May 28th. Although she gave a bomb performance, Cabello was not pleased by how fans behaved.
Cabello, as usual, gave her very best to kick start the Union of European Football Associations’ 2022 Champions League Final, at Stade de France, near Paris. Everything seemed to be going well for her until her voice was overpowered by several Liverpool and Real Madrid fans.
Cabello took to Twitter to voice out her frustration with some now-deleted tweets. “Playing back our performance and I can’t believe people were singing their teams anthem so loud during our performance. Like my team and i worked tirelessly for so long to bring right vibes and give a good show,” she wrote.
Shortly after, she posted another tweet. “Very rude but whatever. IM GLAD U GUYS LOVED IT!!!!!” However, both the tweets have now been deleted.
Several Twitter users had their own opinions to share. A user wrote, trying to explain to Cabello, “Just so you know. European sport fans are passionate. Many fans live for their clubs, its their lifestyle. Its not like USA where people come for the show. So your complaining was quite funny. Not your fault, but this doesnt belong in Europe. Its all about atmosphere fans make.”
While another user wrote in Cabello’s defense, “Being passionate very different to being disrespectful.” To this, another user objected, saying, “Disrespect is being that arrogant to think everyone that went into the FOOTBALL stadium came to watch and listen to her sing. They went in for the football atmosphere, not her show.”
Her performance was a mash-up of her hits, including “Senorita,” “Havana,” and “Bam Bam.” Watch her performance below!
