Cain Velasquez made headlines for all the wrong reasons. He was charged with attempted murder after shooting the wrong person while trying to hunt down a man who allegedly molested a family member. Chuck Liddell also demands Cain Velasquez be released from jail.
Unfortunately for Cain Velasquez, he still remains in jail after a Santa Clara County judge rejected his bail once again. He continues to get a lot of support from fans and peers alike, even if the judge isn’t on his side.
Chuck Liddell, who is also an MMA legend in his own right, voiced his strong opinion on Velasquez’s current plight. While speaking to TMZ Sports, Chuck Liddell expressed his anger that while crazy people are being let out of jail, Velasquez is still stuck there.
“It’s so funny how easy it is to get out — they’re letting all these crazy people out. But you have a problem with letting him out? I don’t know.
Chuck Liddell would then go on to say that if all of the allegations are true, he completely understands why Velasquez did what he did. This is why he feels Velasquez should get bond.
“I get it. In that situation, I get it.”
Unfortunately, Cain Velasquez will remain in jail until at least his next hearing on June 10. Many MMA stars have shown support to Cain Velasquez, including Kamaru Usman, Henry Cejudo and more. If convicted, Velasquez will be in jail for a long time. We’ll keep you updated on this ongoing case.
