The NBA is a taxing lifestyle on players and Joel Embiid understands that all too well. The Philadelphia 76es standout player is out of action after having multiple surgeries on his fingers.

Embiid is a beloved member of the 76ers team. He was even voted the most loved man in his entire city recently. Obviously, losing him is a gut punch for those fans. This hasn’t been the best season for him as Embiid had problems with his thumb and he also hurt his eye, something that kept him out of the first few games of his team’s series against the Miami Heat in the NBA Playoffs.

Shams Charania reports that Embiid had surgery yesterday, on Memorial Day, to repair his right thumb. He also had a procedure done to his left index finger.

76ers’ Joel Embiid underwent surgery Monday to repair his right thumb injury, per the team, and he also had a procedure to repair an injury to his left index finger. Neither procedure is expected to impact Embiid’s availability for training camp.

An injury is still an injury, no matter who you are. Someone who plays professional basketball for a living really needs all ten digits working properly. Now fans and staff at the 76ers alike will have to wait for Embiid to make his return to the hardwood.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
