We are very sad to learn about the tragic passing of Marion Barber. The ex NFL player was only 38-years-old. As of this writing his cause of death is not known.
Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star Telegram was the first to report on Barber’s passing. He reportedly died on Wednesday and was found dead in his apartment.
The former Dallas Cowboys player lived in the great state of Texas. He stayed in a residence in Frisco Texas where police were called on a “welfare concern.” As previously stated, no specifics regarding his cause of death are known.
This is very sad as Barber was set to turn 39 on June 10th. He was a Plymouth, Minnesota native and was first picked by the Dallas Cowboys in the 4th round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He ran for over 4,300 yards and racked up 47 rushing touchdowns during his six-season career.
Barber retired in 2011 as a member of the Chicago Bears. The end of his life saw a few legal issues, including being detained by police in 2014 and taken to the hospital on a mental health evaluation. He was also arrested in 2019 on misdemeanor criminal mischief charges.
Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and fans at this time. RIP.
