Latto made a name for herself by being a rapper in the hip-hop world. She first appeared on the reality television series The Rap Game in 2016, where she won the first season. She is still coming to grips with how to deal with the double standards of the music industry.
The 22-year-old has received a lot of props for her Halloween getups last year. This included a tribute to Mariah Carey and then legendary model Naomi Campbell.
Latto even has her fair share of body shamers, and she never let them affect her in any way either. She is also outspoken and is never afraid to defend herself whenever possible.
While speaking to Bossip, Latto talked about the industry double standard as she mentioned the upcoming Yo! MTV Raps show. Latto admitted she is still trying to learn how to deal with the double standard.
“I’m still dealing with it. I’m still learning how to deal with it, honestly. Being so young, it’s like I’m finding my way throughout all of this, but that is very, very true. And I think it’s no different in the music industry than in real life, though. Women just have it harder. We just got to go a little harder, you know what I’m sayin’, but the success, it pays off in the end.”
Latto certainly has a bright future ahead of her and it is clear she couldn’t care less what her critics think about her life. She will overcome any adversity thrown at her as well. We will have to wait and see what is next in store for Latto.
