Fans of the Addams Family are bound to be happy right now. The Thing, the creepy, stitched together hand and wrist, from Tim Burton’s Addams Family Series, helped announce that the first look at the upcoming “Wednesday” series is all set to release next week, and that too on a Wednesday!
Netflix released its 27-second teaser on Wednesday, June 1 on Twitter with the caption, “Enjoy this marketing ploy.”
The Thing, the disembodied hand that was featured in Tim Burton’s Addam’s family series, has also been featured in the preview and it says, “Heed my warning. A grave terror approaches. Her name is… Wednesday.”
The trailer just dropped before the Geeked Week that is expected to happen next week and the first look is expected on June 6. The show is written by Al Gough and Miles Millar who are also Smallville creators. It is directed by Burton and stars Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams during her years at Nevermore Academy.
In the show, Wednesday tries to master her psychic ability and baffle a killing spree that has frightened the town, and solve a mystery that killed her parents twenty-five years ago.
Other cast members include Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Gwendoline Christie, Christina Ricci, Hunter Doohan, Percy Hynes White, Joy Sunday, Emma Myers, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Georgie Farmer, Naomi Ogawa, and Moosa Mostafa.
