AEW had quite a presence backstage at this week’s AEW Dynamite. Executives from Warner Bros. Discovery were there to check out the event and host a party. WWE superstar Dolph Ziggler was also there for a visit. Ziggler wasn’t the only big name associated with WWE to attend AEW’s Los Angeles debut, though.
Johnny Elite (John Morrison in WWE) appeared and issued an open challenge to anyone on the AEW roster. Miro made his surprise return after not competing for the company for over 200 days. The Redeemer was also joined backstage by his wife, CJ Perry.
Perry was a star in WWE, where she served as a manager, in-ring talent, and star on Total Divas. There, she was known as Lana. Perry was backstage to support her husband for his big return, according to a report from Fightful.
“The former Lana, CJ Perry, was backstage with the returning Miro. Miro was seen walking around throughout the day.”
Lana was released by WWE in June of last year during a huge wave of roster cuts. Many AEW fans have been hoping to see her show up in Tony Khan’s promotion. Miro has referenced her in several of his promos.
Lana was scheduled to wrestle for the WES women’s title at a show produced by the Authors of Pain. That show was postponed for a later date and it is unknown if Lana plans to participate. Meanwhile, Lana has been doing just fine.
Lana has started her premium content site where she raked in $20,000 on her first day. She has also made quite a bit of money in the cryptocurrency space. Any return to wrestling would almost certainly be for the love of the game, but it is possible that could happen sometime in the future.
